Weekend Wisdom

Weekend Wisdom: Confidence

Whether you are a widow, a job seeker, or a widowed job seeker (been there, done that, it stinks!), confidence can be in short supply every now and then.  So I did some research and found some good confidence quotes.  I pray at least one of them will speak to you.

“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”

Eleanor Roosevelt, You Learn by Living: Eleven Keys for a More Fulfilling Life

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you’ve imagined.”

Henry David Thoreau

“Your greatness is revealed not by the lights that shine upon you, but by the light that shines within you.”

Ray Davis

“Confidence is going after Moby Dick in a rowboat and taking the tartar sauce with you.”

Zig Ziglar

If I have lost confidence in myself, I have the universe against me.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

May you be joyfully blessed with an abundance of confidence…and tartar sauce!           😀

A Quote From Zig Ziglar

I am at a loss for something to say today.  Maybe it’s because Advent has not started yet and it just does not feel like Christmas.

So I decided to leave you with a quote from Zig Ziglar who moved to heaven yesterday.   Zig and his wife Jean appear in several of the GriefShare videos.

“When you’re grieving that’s not the time to be brave or strong. You need to let it show.”

Zig Ziglar

If you are grieving the loss of a loved one this holiday season, don’t be afraid to get the nasty negative emotions out.  Keeping them inside will only make your grief worse.
