WW: The Four Presidents

Quotes from the four President’s who took a bullet and died for this country. Thank you for your service gentlemen. You are an inspiration to the nation.

John F. Kennedy

For one true measure of a nation is its success in fulfilling the promise of a better life for each of its members. Let this be the measure of our nation.

Territory is but the body of a nation. The people who inhabit its hills and valleys are its soul, its spirit, its life.

James A. Garfield

Don’t interfere with anything in the Constitution. That must be maintained, for it is the only safeguard of our liberties. And not to Democrats alone do I make this appeal, but to all who love these great and true principles.

Weekend Wisdom

Presidential Weekend Wisdom

Since tomorrow is Veteran’s Day, I decided patriotic quotes would be the subject of Weekend Wisdom both today and tomorrow.

For today, I have selected quotes from the Presidents who are not quoted or thought of that often.  I found all of them to be very interesting.

That’s all a man can hope for during his lifetime – to set an example – and when he is dead, to be an inspiration for history.

William McKinley 25th President of the United States

May God save the country, for it is evident that the people will not.

Millard Filmore 13th President of the United States.

To avoid the necessity of a permanent debt and its inevitable consequences, I have advocated and endeavored to carry into effect the policy of confining the appropriations for the public service to such objects only as are clearly with the constitutional authority of the Federal Government.

Martin Van Buren 8th President of the United States.

Posterity: you will never know how much it has cost my generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it.

John Quincy Adams 6th President of the United States.

Thanks to USA-Patriotism.com for these quotes.
