Today’s daily prompt from WordPress is:
“Your home is on fire. Grab five items (assume all people and animals are safe). What did you grab?”
Here are the 5 things I would grab:
- Kindle Fire (I can’t sleep without my waterfall sound effect)
- family picture taken when Joe and I got married
- picture Joe took of a camera bunker at the Trinity site on our last trip to New Mexico (2005)
- charcoal drawing my late father did of the backyard where my sister, our neighborhood friends and I spent countless hours climbing the chestnut tree, playing in the sand box, and rolling down the hill. (Did you know saucer sleds make good swings in the summertime?)
These are the 5 items that are the easiest to get because they are on the main floor and not in the basement. There would take not be enough time to go grab boxes of family pictures, sports memorabilia and heirloom Christmas ornaments.
This means the painting of Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane that hung over the bed in Grandma and Grandpa M’s guest bedroom, would be sacrificed. But I guess Jesus will not mind, as he’s already sacrificed himself for me – and you.
(Author’s note: I am taking part in WordPress’s The Daily Post Weekly Photography Challenge today and posting a couple pictures pertaining to the theme “Nighttime.” Photography has long been one of my joys in life.)
The Vampire In Me
For years I thought of myself as a vampire because I prefer the night, not because I want to drink blood (although an occasional glass of red wine is nice).
However as these pictures suggest, I am a werewolf because of my fascination with shooting pictures of full moons. My computer contains plenty of moon pictures from numerous angles and at different times of day.
These are my 2 favorites.
“In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning”
This picture was taken in the wee, wee hours of an April morning. I got up to get something to drink and look out the kitchen window to see this view. It is my second favorite full moon picture.
Blue Moon Of Ohio
This is my favorite full moon picture. It is of a supermoon from 2012 and reminds me of something you would see in the original Dark Shadows tv show.
Hope you enjoyed the show. Now I am heading out the door to meet my friends Barnabas, Angelique, and Quentin to see what type of action we can scare up tonight at the Blue Whale. 😉
