Spiritual Prepping

{Day 15} Spiritual Prepping: Still

Today’s post was the most difficult one so far of the 31-Day 5 Minute Free Write Challenge. Even more difficult than the day I had technical issues with computer.

I just was not feeling drawn to any particular verse. The word for today in the challenge is “treasure” but that did not speak to me.

After flipping through my notebook filled with potential verses for this series, I decided on this one.

“Be still, and know that I am God.

I will be exalted among the nations,

I will be exalted in the earth!”

Psalm 46:10

As you prep for life’s hard times, remember to slow down, find a corner and meditate on this verse while in “time out” – especially the first sentence.

Be still and know that I am God

The word “I” in this verse refers to God and not us.

God is not sitting up there in heaven behind the Romper Room mirror saying

“Barbara, Bubba, Judy, William, Peggy Sue, Jojo, Patrick, Michael, Charlotte, Rose, Bobby, Jack, you will be exalted among the nations and the earth.”

God is the great I AM who will be exalted. It would be beneficial for us to remember and meditate on this once in a while.

Even just the first two words make for good meditation –

Be still

This country would be in much better shape if we would just quit yapping and be still for awhile.

Whether it is those 2 words, the entire first sentence, or the entire verse, our country needs to live out these words.

And let the living out of this verse start with the man/woman you see in the mirror.

52 Bible Verses for a Joy Filled Year – Week 11

Feeling hung over today?  I am too, but that’s what happens when it’s day one of Daylight Savings Time. Oh how I wish someone would just pick and time and stick with it. None of this flip-flopping back and forth.

If President Trump wanted to do something that everyone could get behind, picking either Eastern Standard or Daylight Savings time would be the thing to do.

So enjoy a day of stillness and work some extra stillness into your week as you make the adjustment to the new time.

I will be enjoying a nap after church and possibly in church as well.
