“Scatter Joy”

A quickie post to start the week as it is Monday and I know everyone is a little sluggish from the weekend.

Move Over George

Over the weekend I found another quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson while in Hallmark looking for an anniversary card.  (Move over George Clooney, Ralph is the new man in my life.)

The card I found it on was not an anniversary but a birthday card. The card’s front has diamonds scattered down the front and in the card’s center is Ralph’s quote:

Scatter Joy

The inside message is:

Goodness happens wherever you’ve been.

(May it all come back to you on your birthday.)

Your Mission

Your mission today and every day is to “scatter joy.”

My Wish

May the joy you scatter come back to you not only on your birthday but every day.

San Diego Style Strawberries

It’s time for another Swingin’ Summer Saturday’s and Sunday’s recipe.  Although it feels more like fall.

Today’s recipe for a quick and easy fruit dip, comes from a cookbook called “Crowd Pleasers”,  which was   put together by the Junior League of Canton, Ohio, Inc.   (There will be more recipes from this book in the fall during football season.)

San Diego Style Strawberries

1/2 cup sour cream

1/2 cup low-fat cream

1 tablespoon brown-sugar, packed

1 tablespoon rum

1 tablespoon orange liqueur

20 large strawberries with stems.

Combine sour cream, cream, sugar, rum and liqueur in a small bowl.  Mix until blended.  Serve mixture in individual serving dishes with strawberries arranged on a large bowl of crushed ice.  Dip strawberries into cream mixture.

Have a great weekend and remember to “Scatter Joy” (Ralph Waldo Emerson).

What I Am Going To Put On My Resume & Business Cards

I was looking for a quote that would fit a picture I was going to post today.  Well, I found a quote from my new love, Ralph Waldo Emerson.  It has nothing to do with the picture but it was too good not to share.  So instead of a picture here is just the quote.  I will let you form a picture in your mind.  After all those are the best.

Have a joy filled week.

The age of a woman doesn’t mean a thing.  The best tunes are played on the oldest fiddles.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

This is going on my resume and the back of my business cards!  Maybe it will get employers to think twice about age discrimination  😉
