My friend Jeff Nischwitz is the inspiration for today’s “Weekend Wisdom” as he too sent me a quote to use in December’s special series. Fire is part of the quote that speaks to him. So I started researching “Fire” quotes.
Here is what I found, may one of them ignite a fire in you today.
Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.
Even in a time of elephantine vanity and greed, one never has to look far to see the campfires of gentle people.
In everyone’s life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.
Someday, after mastering the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies of love, and then, for a second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire.
By reading the scriptures I am so renewed that all nature seems renewed around me and with me. The sky seems to be a pure, a cooler blue, the trees a deeper green. The whole world is charged with the glory of God and I feel fire and music under my feet.
