Dazzling Because Of Imperfections

I received this quote via email from Gretchen Rubin’s “The Happiness Project Blog, Moment of Happiness.”

“Some beautiful things are more dazzling when they are still imperfect than when they have been too perfectly crafted.”

La Rochefoucauld, Collected Maxims and Other Reflections

I immediately related to it as I am imperfect.

Some people see me as imperfect because I am a widow, an introvert, or a Botticelli woman. They do not see those characteristics as part of what makes me dazzling, instead they just see them as flaws.

To those of you who see me as dazzling because of my flaws – Thank You. It is a joy to spend time with you and call you friend.

If you don’t see me as dazzling? Just remember chiseling away those flaws will make me nothing more than a Stepford Wife.

Do you love your imperfections because they make you dazzling?

Be A Flower Child

“Let us choose for ourselves our path in life, and let us try to strew that path with flowers.”

Daily Happiness Dose

Every day in my inbox I receive a “Moment of Happiness” email from New York Times best-selling author, Gretchen Rubin.

I fell in love with this quote immediately when I read it the other day.  It just spoke to me of joy, happiness, sunshine, and positivity.

Your Flowers

Now I suppose you can strew (or per Merriam-Webster.com – scatter) real or silk flowers if you want.  What a way to liven things up at work!

However, let your flowers be good deeds or random acts of kindness.

Leave lots of them along your life’s path.  Comfort a widow, buy the person in line behind you their coffee, pass the luck on by giving the penny you found to a stranger, or send flowers anonymously to someone.

Your flowers will bring smiles to lots of people’s faces and just might make their day.

Flower Child

So choose your path and strew whatever type of flower you desire with wild reckless abandon.

Oh and don’t forget to strew lots of the most important flower – your smile.   😀

Who will you give a flower to today?
