40 Days of Joy, grief

Quotes To Help You “Achieve Anything”

When I decided to do “40 Days of Joy” for this year, I emailed my friends Katherine, Jennifer and Jeff for quotes either said by them or other that I could use in blog posts.  Hopefully the posts would speak to my readers, especially those grieving or going through another of life’s nasty events.

Here are the responses I received.  Hopefully you will be able to use one of these quotes as inspiration to “Achieve Anything“* in 2014.

Katherine’s Quote

“You will survive if you set a vision of what you want and do not want in your life.”

Katherine Miracle

Miracle Resources

Not only is it necessary to define what you want, but define what you do not want out of life.

Do you want to survive your grief journey, unemployment or other nasty life event? What does your  life look like once you survive that  journey? How will you know when you’ve reached the end of your journey?

A Dreamy Quote

Jennifer sent me this quote:

“What would you dare to dream if you knew you wouldn’t fail?”

Brian Tracy

The sky is the limit with this quote. Anything you dream for 2014 will be a success. What is it? What actions will you take to bring your idea to life?

Jeff’s Quote

Jeff emailed me this quote as one currently speaking to him. It is a powerful quote with a lot of truth behind it.

“The most powerful weapon on earth is the human soul on fire.”

Ferdinand Foch

This quote is my favorite of the three. Why –

A soul on fire is necessary to bring the other two quotes to life.

So which quote will you use to as a mantra as you achieve greatness in 2014?

Or have you found another great quote, if so email me via the private contact form below or leave your comments in the public section.

America’s Respect Revolution

It is something that is and has been lacking in this country for a long time.

I do not get respect as a widow.  Most people can not get away from me fast enough.

I did not get it when I was unemployed either.  Putting the unemployed back to work requires people willing to help but most of society treats the unemployed with contempt.  They are nice to your face but once your back is turned, look out here come the knife.  Even your closest friends, family members and fellow church folk will turn on you.

What is the cure or at least part of the cure?

America’s Respect Revolution

My friend Katherine Miracle started a grass-roots campaign America’s Respect Revolution. (Click on the link to be taken to the Facebook page).

It is…

A campaign to change culture and help Americans respect themselves and respect everyone…everyday. We believe you cannot have success without respect!!!

She is right, you can not achieve success without respecting yourself and others.

This link will take you to their Indiegogo crowd-funding page where you can find out more about America’s Respect Revolution and how you can help fund the documentary Katherine and her team are working on.

I urge you to become part of the revolution.  It is just as important if not more so than the revolution which founded this country.

So click on this link to read more about the campaign and watch the video.

Hopefully you will help America’s Respect Revolution spread like wildfire across the country.

Remember –

“Everyone wants it, not enough people give it, so not enough people receive it.”

Together we can change America so we once again respect ourselves and each other.

3 Words That Smacked Me In The Head

Tonight I went to “Broken to Better to Brilliant” and heard some dear friends share their life experience stories.

I hoped that one of the 3 speakers would say a word or phrase that would serve as inspiration for a blog post.  Well, I was not disappointed.

It was my friend Katherine Miracle who said the following 3 words during her speech.  These 3 words smacked me in the face and are pretty much the only thing I remember:

“I Need You”

Tears immediately came to my eyes as I thought it has been a long time since I heard those words uttered in this house.  Whether it was to get Joe something to eat, drink, or just needing a hug there is no human here to utter those words.

Nor am I able to say those words to him.

In a way I hear them from Rommie when she tells me she needs me to throw her tennis balls, or when she wants either fed or let outside.  While it is nice to know she needs me, it is not the same as having the person you love need you.

Other People

There are other people either in our lives to whom we need to say “I need you” besides significant others.

We all need people but sometimes it is hard to admit it because needing someone can be perceived as a sign of weakness.  However, it is a sign of strength.

Whom I Need

So to my readers, I say “I need you.”

To my friends, family and acquaintances I say “I need you.”

But most importantly I say to God, my heavenly Father

“I need you.”

To whom will you say “I need you”?
