Spiritual Prepping

{Day 28} Spiritual Prepping – Joyful

Now that you have laid down and slept in God’s safety, it is time to get up and…

Let joy be the defining trait of your character. Let joyful be the first-word people use to describe you before they use words like honest, hard-working, and generous – among others.

Be joyful because Jesus Christ died to set you free from sin so you have life everlasting. If that does not make you joyful, I do not know what will.

Then scatter your joy to the people in your little piece of God’s world. How?

Just smile. You can send flowers if you want to as well. But when you are out and about running errands, just smile at the people you see along the way. Your smile just might make someone’s day.

Party On!

I also associate being joyful with celebrating life. Whether it is big events like job promotions or little things like the first dandelion or the first leaf changing color. We get so wrapped up in the hubbub of life we don’t stop and celebrate the little things or even small accomplishments.

Now we shall see if I take my own advice as work put more responsibility on me and my teammates. The additional duties start on Sunday.

I will also figure out a way to incorporate more celebrations on JoyReturns for next year.

So start being joyful, living joyful, and celebrating joyfully even in the hard times.

Movin’ and Groovin’ Monday: Joy

I know I just brought back Movin’ and Groovin’ Monday but it is going away again and tomorrow’s post will explain my change in plans.

Until then get your boogie shoes on and get dancing or should I say hoppin’. Today’s song will certainly pump you up so you have the necessary energy to tackle your grief, unemployment or any one of life other journeys.

40 Days of Joy

“40 Days of Joy” Series Is Back This Christmas Season

I was not going to do anything special for Christmas this year since I am back to working full-time.  However, I decided to run the 2013 edition of “40 Days of Joy” after feeling that was the direction the Holy Spirit was leading me. Normally “40 Days” runs from Thanksgiving Eve through New Year’s Day. Then I looked at the calendar and did the math.  Hold your horses folks.  There are not 40 days starting with Thanksgiving Eve and ending with New Years Day.  There are – 36!

Yes, that is right – just 36 days. So I am going to add 4 to make it 40 and run the series from Saturday November 23rd through Thursday January 1st 2014.

What You Can Expect From This Year’s Edition

The posts from 11/23 through 11/26 will focus on holiday recipes.  The remainder of the series will be posts, quotes from my motivational speaker friends, recipes and possibly even some craft ideas and/or poetry.  All designed to add a little “comfort and joy” to your season.

Gratitude

Remember, despite being a widow – you do have a lot to be grateful for, even though you do not feel as though you do.

If you are not a widow or grieving stop on by anyway as you can always do with a little joy this hectic time of year.
