Lenten Weekend Wisdom: Confidence And Hope

In order to pray with confidence and

you need to know who you are praying to.

Paul David Tripp

Journey To The Cross; A 40-Day Lenten Devotional

What are the characteristics of your God? Are there things He can’t do? Is He mortal like you? Is He loving and forgiving?

When you confess your sins to Him are you do so out of fear and dread of being tarred and feathered?

The Bible verse referenced the Day 28 devotion by Tripp explains who you are confessing to:

14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 4:14 -16

Just a little something to meditate on to give you the confidence to pray and confess your sins before God and humbly asking for His forgiveness.

Lenten Weekend Wisdom: No Sacrifice

What are you sacrificing in order to draw closer to God and strengthen your relationship?

No sacrifice that you and I will ever make is as great as the sacrifice that was made for us and for our redemption.

Lenten Weekend Wisdom: Just As He Planned

The redemptive story confronts us with the fact that God is not like us. He saw our need, he planned how to meet that need, and everything happened just as he planned.
