Weekend Wisdom

Easter Weekend Wisdom Sunrise Hymn: Jesus Christ Is Risen Today

I have been singing Jesus Christ Is Risen Today since Good Friday. My heart was bursting with the joy of Easter and Spring which made sitting through the Communion service on Friday night very tough. I wanted upbeat, hand-clapping, foot-stomping music and not songs sung at a tempo slower than a funeral march.

My joyous mood continued into Saturday as well. What is known as a day of waiting found me not waiting to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. I listened to my Amy Grant and Mormon Tabernacle Choir cd’s. Then I watched my 2 Elvis concert’s and the Barry Manilow concert which provided me with lots of boogie music.

May your cup be overflowing with Easter joy today and every day.

God Bless You,

Jesus Christ Is Risen Today

Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia!
Our triumphant holy day, Alleluia!
Who did once, upon the cross, Alleluia!
Suffer to redeem our loss, Alleluia!

Hymns of praise then let us sing, Alleluia!
Unto Christ, our heavenly King, Alleluia!
Who endured the cross and grave, Alleluia!
Sinners to redeem and save, Alleluia!

But the pains which He endured, Alleluia!
Our salvation hath procured, Alleluia!
Now above the sky He’s king, Alleluia!
Where the angels ever sing, Alleluia!

Sing we to our God above, Alleluia!
Praise eternal as His love, Alleluia!
Praise Him, all you heavenly host, Alleluia!
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, Alleluia!

Easter Frame

Happy Easter-He Is Risen

He is risen indeed!

Here is a video of the hymn we sing at church every Easter.  Mom and I went to Easter service in 2010, it was the first Easter after my step-father’s passing and it was a couple days before  their anniversary.  I thought it might be hard on her, well no it was not – she took it in stride.

I was the one in tears.  My tears started when we sang this song.  It just touched my heart to know because of Jesus Christ being risen that Joe was also risen.

So enjoy the video of King’s College Choir Cambridge 2011

May you have a blessed Easter filled with lots of sunshine.

“For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.”
