Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
In honor of the Kearns ancestors who came here from Ireland, here is the official Irish blessing of JoyReturns:
“May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the skies above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hearts that love you.”
Enjoy the day in moderation.
FYI – Joe’s blood was 100% Irish, mine is 75% German and 25% Scottish (Maxwell Clan).
Today we say goodbye to Weekend Wisdom for the year. Next weekend will kick off the “40 Days of Joy” series for the holidays. It is a series designed to help widows through the holiday season, but the tips are generic enough they can be used by those grieving the loss of any loved one or those not grieving at all who just need a little extra boost to make it through this hectic season.
The next time you see Weekend Wisdom will be Saturday January 4th, 2014. In honor of the temporary hiatus, I set out to find uplifting quotes about goodbyes.
Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Some trails are happy ones,
Others are blue.
It’s the way you ride the trail that counts,
Here’s a happy one for you.
How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.
Carol Sobieski and Thomas Meehan, Annie
No distance of place or lapse of time can lessen the friendship of those who are thoroughly persuaded of each other’s worth.
Goodbyes are not forever.
Goodbyes are not the end.
They simply mean I’ll miss you
Until we meet again!
May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields.
And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of his hand.
