I have a subscription to “emusic” as that is the service that came with my computer. It is a great service. It does not have the selection yet that I-Tunes does but they are slowly and steadily rectifying the situation.
A Special
Earlier this month they ran a special – download 16 classic Elvis albums for 4.99 each. Now I am a huge Elvis fan. So I jumped on it. No, I did not download 16 albums, but I did download Elvis Country-Legacy Edition. I started listening to it and I was blown away.
The song selection is awesome, most of which I never heard before. The type of music ranges from ballads (“Love Letters”) to religious (“Life”) to Yee-Haw country/rock-a-billy ( “A Hundred Years From Now”) to booty-shaking (“I Washed My Hands In Muddy Waters”).
Part Of A Couple?
If you are married, engage, or dating listen closely to the message in “This is Our Dance” a love song waltz. If you are in your first year of grief, SKIP THIS SONG. It is also advisable to skip “The Sound of Your Cry” a very powerful and moving song about a break up.
Exercise Class
If you want to dissolve a serious amount of body fat, listen to “Got My Mojo Working/Keep Your Hands Off Her”, “Whole Lot-ta Shakin’ Goin’ On”, and “I Washed My Hands In Muddy Waters.” There is a raw stripped-down nakedness to these songs – shades of early Elvis. You can’t help but “Shake Your Groove Thing” when these songs play.
These are just a few of the 29 songs on the album. I could go on and on about “Sylvia”, “Heart of Rome” and “Tomorrow Never Comes” but I will let you discover these gems on your own.
So go buy the cd or download it from your music service and remember to dance because:
“We’re fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance.”
Japanese proverb.
