Weekend Wisdom

Explore. Dream. Discover.

Today’s wonderful quote comes from Mark Twain. (Offical Website)

Here is the first paragraph from the biography on his website.

On Nov. 30, 1835, the small town of Florida, Mo. witnessed the birth of its most famous son. Samuel Langhorne Clemens was welcomed into the world as the sixth child of John Marshall and Jane Lampton Clemens. Little did John and Jane know, their son Samuel would one day be known as Mark Twain – America’s most famous literary icon.

“Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

Mark Twain

My thoughts are stampeding through my mind due to excitement caused by converting this site to .com from wordpress.com. (Obviously, life’s little things excite and bring me joy.)

My dream was to start a joyful looking blog where telling my adventures would help widows find encouragement and those not grieving would learn about grief.  The stories would not just be positive and uplifting but would include the bad times as well.

The blog’s message would be –

Even though I went through good, bad, and ugly adventures, my joy did return.

My goal was blog for a year, then review stats and comments and decide whether or not to continue blogging.

Well this site has been more successful than imagined, so I upgraded it yesterday.

While I try to get my thoughts under control, I leave you ponder the following quote:

“The stars exist that we might know how high our dreams can soar.”

(From a journal entitled “Dreams” by Ellie Claire, gift and paper expression)

God blessed me with a dream and helped me make it a reality.  Thank you God.

Your Dreams

So how high are your dreams soaring and what will you do this week to bring them one step closer to reality?
