Lenten Weekend Wisdom: Confidence And Hope

In order to pray with confidence and

you need to know who you are praying to.

Paul David Tripp

Journey To The Cross; A 40-Day Lenten Devotional

What are the characteristics of your God? Are there things He can’t do? Is He mortal like you? Is He loving and forgiving?

When you confess your sins to Him are you do so out of fear and dread of being tarred and feathered?

The Bible verse referenced the Day 28 devotion by Tripp explains who you are confessing to:

14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 4:14 -16

Just a little something to meditate on to give you the confidence to pray and confess your sins before God and humbly asking for His forgiveness.

Weekend Wisdom: Goodness

As we enter a new era, one that will probably be as wild as a roller coaster, I am meditating on this Bible verse:

I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Psalm 27:13 (NIV)

No matter how hard life gets the next year, two or beyond, I am holding on to this verse.

Weekend Wisdom: Biblical Confidence

Here are a few Biblical quotes to boost your confidence. May at least one of these help you through your week.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

2 Timothy 1:7

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

Philippians 4:13

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Proverbs 3:6

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2 Corinthians 12:9

17 Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.

19 The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to tread on the heights.

Habakkuk 3:17-19
