Lenten Weekend Wisdom: Confession

Lent is about more than giving up chocolate, coffee, or chocolate coffee. But we humans make Lent more about sacrificing material things. Giving up something for Lent is always hard because I was not raise to give something up. In our church our focus was on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter.

The only sacrifice I remember was giving up some time on Good Friday to go to church and pray in 30 minute slots from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Sacrifice your words as you confess during Lent.

No sacrifice is more pleasing to your Lord than the sacrifice of words in the form of humble, honest, heartfelt confession.
