Sunday At Church With Michele
Thought you would like to see what happened at church yesterday.
Sunday School: Genesis 7:6
Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters came on the earth.
This is where the hose from the dishwasher and the pipe from the sink in the basement empty into. Sometimes if the pipe is even slightly turned the wrong way, the sewer will back up causing a flood in the basement. That is not the case in this situation. Instead, it is the spindly tree roots clogging the line and I must have Mr. Plumber snake it out.
I feel 600 years old after dealing with another flood.
Coffee Hour: Ruth 4:1
Boaz said, “Come over here, my friend, and sit down.”
Sunday started out cool and Rommie told me to make a cup of coffee and relax before going to the 10:30 church service. I might be dreaming, but I think there are “clouds in my coffee, clouds in my coffee.”
Altar Flowers: Isaiah 40:8
The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”
The flowers were lovely and later this week they will be transformed into dandelion infused olive oil and then into Dandelion Salve.
10:30 Worship Service: Psalm 103: 1-5
Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
The “Kindle” band provided the worship music, which included Matt Redmon’s 10,000 Reasons
The sermon by Pastor Briggs and Stratton was so powerful it left the audience of 10,000 dandelions an emotionally and physically tore up.
Baptismal Fountain: Mark 1:8
I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.
After the sermon, the Baptismal Fountain was resurrected for another season.
You have your choice of being sprinkled…
or dunked.
Either way is good as God does not care which way you get baptized.
Benediction: Numbers 6: 24-26
“The Lord bless you
and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”
Now that you’ve experienced Sunday at church with Michele, why don’t you join me next week?
