Musical Message From Birthday Boy Elvis

That’s right! If you’ve been reading this blog for awhile, you know January 8th rarely, if ever, goes by without a tribute to Elvis Presley – STILL the king of rock n roll.

If you are like me, you need to periodically escape for a few moments to cope with life. This song provides me with a temporary musical escape. It restores my heart, mind and soul for Jesus is our bridge over life’s troubled waters.

Let Elvis’ version of Simon and Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water ease your mind and provide a temporary escape.

Enjoy!

Thank you God for bringing Elvis into the world 86 years ago today.

Weekend Wisdom Courtesy of So Hyang

Good Morning. Here is your wake up call – no coffee necessary. This video appeared in my Facebook news feed when it was shared by Kevin Sorbo.

While I still prefer Elvis’ version, So Hyang does a wonderful job singing Bridge Over Troubled Water.

May this lift your spirit today.

Enjoy!

Simon and Garfunkel

“Bridge Over Troubled Water”

When you’re weary, feeling small,
When tears are in your eyes
I will dry them all
I’m on your side
When times get rough
And friends just can’t be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

When you’re down and out
When you’re on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you
I’ll take your part
When darkness comes
And pain is all around
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

Sail on, silvergirl
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way
See how they shine
If you need a friend
I’m sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind

My Favorite Song From “Elvis That’s The Way It Is”

My favorite song from “Elvis That’s The Way It Is” CD is his version of the Simon and Garfunkel hit “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”

The song is very powerful and packed full of emotion which is how I like my music. It is why Beethoven is my favorite classical composer because of all the power, emotion and drama in his music.

According to the liner notes in the Legacy Edition of “Elvis, That’s The Way It Is”, Elvis picked songs not because of their message but because of the song’s emotion. Wow!  I have something in common with The King of Rock-n-Roll!

Enjoy this video of Elvis. It is from the movie “Elvis That’s The Way It Is.”
