GriefShare.org
This is the Christ-centered, Biblically-based grief support program I attended and it became my anchor for my week. I looked forward to attending our meetings more than Sunday church service. I can not recommend this 13-week video series enough. Everyone there will understand you because everyone is grieving and has made the choice to move forward through grief. Each week is a different video and most churches will let you start anytime.
Widows Christian Place
Ferree Hardy – Also became a widow at a young age. She writes about her journey in Post Cards From the Widow’s Path. (available on her website). One of the best books about the journey from becoming a widow and moving forward with life to remarriage.
Digging Deeper With God
Christine Drews – Thoughtful, well-written devotions that will help you go deeper into God’s word.
pauldavidtripp.com
The website of the pastor, speaker, and best-selling and award-winning author. I first “met” Paul David Trip through the videos during GriefShare. His teaching is Biblically sound and rock-solid as he shows you how the Bible applies to everyday life.
Drink Deep; A Musical Journey Through Grief
An excellent album that chronicles grief from the moment it strikes through our victory in Christ. The album was done by Steve Siler of Music for the Soul, “A Christian ministry using the power of songs and stories as a bridge to hope and healing for those facing life’s most difficult issues.”
Sherline’s Watchu Thinkin’ Blog
The Journey of Self-Discovery Begins- This post contains 2 videos, one about determining the type of Christian you are and the other about storms. Watching them will change your perspective.
Through Ink and Image…Pursuing a God Inspired life.
Lynn Abbott (website)– I love Lynn’s words but this post about God being the ultimate Dumpster Diver had me grinning from ear to ear. Thank goodness He is a dumpster diver or we would be in the trash pile forever. Oh, and Lynn’s artwork is stunning in every post.
Cutting Board Confessions
My friend Nalin Yosek’s blog mostly about food but also about a few other topics along the way.
Nosy Parker – musings of a curious creative
A blog written by my longtime friend Gabriana Marks. She just recently surpassed 900 days of finding One Good Thing in every day. That is tough to do when you are a full-time caregiver with your own health issues.
Cultivating
A beautiful online magazine providing “a welcoming place to restore, renew, and reinforce the individual.” Inspired by Philippians 4:7-9 this is the place to go when your soul needs restoration. The photography will take your breath away and the writing will encourage you. Here is the link to an interview with Roots and Skyauthor Christie Purifoy. After reading the article, browse the other areas of the magazine and sign up to receive monthly encouragement – I did.
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.”
