Thursday Trash

Funny how today’s writing prompt “What chore do you find the most challenging to do?, arrived on a Thursday – trash day. Because I HATE taking out the trash. Going around the house emptying the wastebaskets, tying up the trash bags, hauling the bins out to the curb is a pain.

When Joe was here, I took the cans out upon arriving home from working. His philosophy was the last one home put out the bins. It made sense since I worked the late shift. But sine he’s been gone, it’s become a dreaded chore.

It seems unnatural to interrupt the flow of my quiet evening with taking out the trash.

I must work on being grateful for the ability to bag up the trash and roll it out to the curb every week. Maybe by giving thanks, my perception of taking out the trash will change.

May God bless you with a trash-free day.
