Revelation 2022

My biggest life revelation this year involves this verse:

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

John 15:13

It dawned on me this verse does not only means dying for your country but it means taking care of others.

Lean On Me

Caregivers are the pillars people lean on who need ongoing assistance. You are laying aside things in your life to care for a sick or disabled relative. Just make sure you take care of you as one of the dangers is the caregiver him/herself getting sick. I’ve seen it happen several times in life.

Thank You For Being A Friend

Laying down your life is also what friends for other friends going through challenges such as grief, divorce, or unemployment. They make extra time those that are hurting by calling, sending cards or emails, or meeting for coffee.

We’ve Only Just Begun

Spouses lay down a part of their life when they marry. They give up certain dreams or desires to pursue grander dreams with a life partner. Dreams of children or no children, of starting a business or running an established family business, and of a mansion on the Riviera or a cabin in the woods.

Final Thought

We all need help at various times in life and we all need to lay down our lives for others. Remember, the best way to be there for a relative or friend going through any hard time is to just be there.

May God bless you with joy, health, prosperity, and the strength to help others in 2023.
