Weekend Wisdom

Weekend Wisdom: Clint Eastwood

The idea for today’s wisdom comes from a video Pinball Preparedness did yesterday. He read lines from Clint Eastwood movies that apply to prepping.

Here is the one line that best applies to dealing with grief.

“Improvise, adapt and overcome.” — Heartbreak Ridge

These 3 skills will help you move forward with building a new life after your spouse or other loved one dies.

Is it tough adapting to losing

  • 3/4 of your household income?
  • your resume writer?
  • your best friend?
  • your lover?
  • your auto mechanic?
  • your groundskeeper?
  • your remote control hog?

Yes.

The above losses are just a few that I experienced when Joe moved to heaven.

However, I improvised, adapted, and overcame grief. Being a wimp when it comes to pain (physical or mental) inspired me to do what it took to overcome the pain of grief.

If I can overcome grief and rebuild my life, you can too.

Biblical Wisdom

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

1 John 4:4

Remember, it is because of he who is in you that you can overcome grief and anything else life throws at you.

Have a joy-filled weekend and God bless you.
