Weekend Wisdom

Weekend Wisdom: King Jehoshaphat

God put this verse on my heart when reading an article the other day.

Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.

King Jehoshaphat – 2 Chronicles 20:12 (NIV)

King Jehoshaphat’s full prayer before meeting Moab and Ammon in battle, is in verses 2 Chronicles 20:5-12.

The Answer

Here’s an excerpt from God’s answer:

Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is God’s not yours….Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out and face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.

2 Chronicles 20: 15, 17 (NIV)

May you and I always look to God when the going gets rough and find joy in knowing the battle is HIS and not ours.
