Spiritual Prepping

{Day 9} Spiritual Prepping: Power

Welcome!

(I am back on the computer today with no issues in writing posts, using WordPress, or any other site. Not sure what was wrong yesterday if it was computer or internet related. My internet company just got bought up by another company. Oh, joy! The next 6 months ought to be fun as we transition to the new provider.)

Today’s verse coincides with the writing prompt: Power

Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.”

Matthew 22:29

Marriage in heaven is the issue Jesus was addressing when He spoke these word. However, Jesus’ words apply to life in general and not just the subject of marriage. Knowing scripture brings you a peace that surpasses all understanding because you know who is walking with you – the Lord God Almighty. He is more powerful than any human.

You want to see God’s power? Open your eyes and look around you. His power is everywhere in creation. Then put “La Palma” in the YouTube search bar, you will see live footage of God using His power to bring forth good from evil in the Canary Islands. Then put Bushcraft Bear in YouTube search bar as he lives on La Palma and does updates about the volcano.

For while the devil means to destroy the island of La Palma, God is using His power to create new land by having the lava rush into the sea. The existing land covered in lava is now also more fertile. Not only is the new and existing land more fertile but it will also provide new homes for insects and animals.

Also, your daughter or grand daughter may one day be flashing an engagement ring with diamonds from a volcano and living in a house whose building material came from a volcano.

Don’t believe it? This article explains 6 benefits of volcanos: 6 ways volcanoes benefit Earth, our environment.

Taking something the devil means for death and destruction and instead creating diamonds, fertile soil, and building materials, now that is power.

Dear Holy, Gracious and Loving Heavenly Father,

Thank you God for loving us so much that you use your power to turn death and destruction into new life. Use your power to place a desire upon our hearts to know scripture so we understand your power. Finally, open our eyes so we can see your power at work all around us and in our lives.

In Jesus’ name I pray – Amen!
