Bible Verses for Painful Times

Whether it’s mentally processing a nationwide event such as 9/11 or a painful event in your personal life, may these verses comfort, encourage and/or give you hope

“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down but not destroyed”

2 Corinthians 4:8-9

He will cover you with his feathers,

    and under his wings you will find refuge;

    his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

Psalm 91:4

I trust in you;

    do not let me be put to shame,

    nor let my enemies triumph over me.

No one who hopes in you

    will ever be put to shame,

but shame will come on those

    who are treacherous without cause

Psalm 25:2-3
