Crashing and Burning

Monday night I crashed and burned at work. Just could not handle work because nerves were shot. Not sure what set me off but trying to adjust to new work schedule and the erratic sleep it brings did not help.

How Rommie handled the heat.

Oh and then there is the weather. You see, I’m not the only one who has crashed and burned – Ohio has too. Well, Ohio has not crashed, it’s burning due to the second straight week of 80 and 90 degree temperatures. High temps happen at this time most years because kids are back in school and most buildings do not have air conditioning. So schools get closed because of the excessive heat. The same schools that will get closed because of excessive cold and snow in January.

Ok. Enough of being crabby. Time for coffee…and chocolate! (Eight O’Clock Caramel Macchiato and 2 squares of Ghirardelli Intense Dark Midnight Reverie with 86% Cacao.)

In Other News….

Kate Motaung is thinking of hosting a 31-day writing challenge in October. If she does, then I will be publishing a post every day that month.

On OgleOhio.com, my photo blog, there will be 31 Days of Autumn in Ohio which will start the 1st of October. I was planning on doing this before receiving Kate’s email about the writing challenge. So I could be publishing every day on both blogs during October.

Also, I am thinking of brining back the Christmas series 40 Days of Joy. The posts are about recipes, poems, scripture, decorating and my thoughts to help widows get through the Christmas season. The series would start on November 22 and end on the 31st of December.

Yes, it is going to be an ambitious fourth quarter of 2021 one that could lead to another crash and burn, especially since I work in retail. 😀

But I did pick CRAZY as my word for this year.

Future Plans

I will just briefly mention some ideas I am kicking around for 2022 –

  • OgleOhio and/or JoyReturns becoming my side hustles. I need to find a way to increase my income. What turning my blogs into a side hustle looks like, remains to be seen but for starters I will be needing a printer.
  • Starting an OgleOhio YouTube channel where I will post videos of various scenic views taken as I travel around Ohio. For that I am going to need a new phone as my refurbished Motorola Z Droid is on it’s final approach to crashing and burning. But that issue should be resolved this week or next.

Well that’s all for now. Time to make oatmeal for breakfast and wait for the heat to set in.

Remember God is with you even when you crash and burn.

God Bless You.

For You have been my help,
And in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy.
