A Personal $HTF Event

Most people think of an $HTF event as a meteor hitting the earth, the power grid going down or some other nationwide or worldwide event.

Well these events happen on a personal level as well.

On Saturday I fell while out hiking and taking photo’s at a park. Photography takes my mind off the fact that I am exercising and how far I have or have not walked.

Now I am sore and while moving is getting easier, it still takes a lot out of me.

I do not have to go grocery shopping this week thanks to a little extra food in the pantry. It would be too much of a chore.

While my falling was not a nationwide or worldwide $HTF event, it was one for me. One that I will not repeat. No more taking the path with a steep descent which is not taken by countless others hikers.

Taking the road less traveled is not always a smart decision, but if you must take it be prepared for the consequences.

The Road Not Taken 


Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
