Opinion: Excellence In Fear-Mongering

Disclaimer: This is my opinion based on the current Covid-19 situation here in Ohio. As a widow, you need to pay some attention to the news (for God’s sake do not watch it 24/7) and form your own opinions about various topics. It is part of moving forward with a new life.

Our “beloved” Governor Dewine gave an excellent fear mongering speech yesterday evening. I am sure most Ohioans are now convinced that unless you are wearing a mask, you will get Covid-19 and instantly drop dead.

The population in our state is 11.7 million and as of 6:46 p.m. today – 15 July 2020 – 3,069 residents have passed away from Covid (providing those stats are correct). Yes, every death is sad and there are a lot of people grieving the loss of their loved ones and the relationship they had with them. But 3,069 out of 11.7 million is worth a possible mandatory mask mandate and a potential 2nd shutdown? Was this even worth the first shutdown?

He compared us to Florida but he did not mention that Florida’s numbers are skewed. So if their numbers are skewed, then other state’s figures are probably skewed.

We are to wear masks, however, they are not mandatory yet. Will your mask stop the virus? About as much as my chain link fence stops mosquitoes.

I do not get why We The People do not understand that if you comply with wearing a mask, the government will come back and use fear to get us to comply with something else. Give them an inch of your freedom and they will very quickly take a mile and eventually all of our freedom.

Masks are just the starting point.

That being said, will I comply with our governor’s request to voluntarily wear a mask?

What else did you expect from an opinionated, history lover who has unwavering faith in what the founding fathers did because they laid down a very firm foundation in God.

Remember, Our Constitution was created to restrain government and not restrain We The People.

Prayer for the Governor

I believe in praying for our leaders because the Bible calls us to do it. Is it painful to pray for people I do not like? Extremely. But I do it anyway.

Dear Holy, Gracious and Loving Heavenly Father,

Thank you for being Holy, Gracious, and Loving. Please do some serious work on Governor DeWine’s heart and educate him about how numbers are being skewed. Make him understand the long-term damage done to Ohio with the first shutdown and that a second shutdown will do even more damage.

In Jesus’ name I pray,
