The last major house repair Joe did was install a Frigidaire Gallery series dishwasher in 2007 during either late summer or early fall. It was a workhorse. It held up to whatever we put it through.
Until last November when it finally gave up the ghost. It would still run but not fill with water. I thought “Great, just in time for cold and flu season.” Then the pandemic hit, so colds and flu became the least of my concerns.
I could not swing a new dishwasher so I started saving up for it. I almost bought one but decided car insurance and the house payment were more important.
Then I got my stimulus check and headed for the local appliance store during their Memorial Day sale. I started looking at the Gallery series again but got a deal on this Bosch Ascent as it was a closeout. My only requirement was it had to be white to match my other appliances. Also, my kitchen is the size of a postage stamp so no dark colors to make the kitchen look smaller.
It was finally installed last Friday and I have done numerous loads. Most everything in the kitchen it is getting run through the dishwasher to be thoroughly cleaned and sterilized. It’s so quiet I have to put my hand on it to make sure it has a pulse (starts-up). It does make a little bit of noise when running but nothing that would wake the dead.
I feel so much better now that dishes are not being left in the dish drainer to air dry or that I am having to hand dry.
It’s amazing what things excite you in life. Whoever thought I would get this excited over a dishwasher?
