Fifty years ago tomorrow four students were shot and killed by the Ohio National Guard at Kent State University (my alma mater).
Due to the Corona virus all events were cancelled this year, including Academy Award-Winning actress and activist Jane Fonda’s keynote speech.
Every year there is a candle light walk and vigil that starts at 11 p.m. on May 3rd and ends at 12:24 p.m. on May 4th, the time of the confrontation.
So I light this candle in memory of those who died on that fateful day:
- Allison Krause
- Jeffrey Miller
- Sandra Scheuer
- William Schroeder
May God comfort their grieving friends and families today and always.
