Weekend Wisdom: Comfort in Election Insanity

My blog posts will fit into one of 5 blog categories – joy, grief, career, life and W.O.O. This is an example of a “life” post -just general thoughts, ramblings, and adventures about life.

Stressed out, fed up, tired and weary of the election craziness already? Join the club.

Thursday night was the first Republican Debate I watched because it is the one closest to Ohio’s primary on 3/15.

Oh my heavens. The adjectives that come to mind are disgusting, childish, and pathetic. All were a disgrace to the Republican party – except for Governor John Kasich. Thank you Mr. Governor  for being the only adult on stage Thursday night.

Theme Song

There was one song that kept running through my mind as I watched the “bar room brawl” between Trump, Rubio and Cruz – Garth Brooks’ Friends In Low Places, not sure why guess it is because they lacked “social graces.”       😉

My Only Comfort

My only comfort in all this insanity comes from John 16:33 (ESV).

33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Yes, we will get through all the insanity of the primary and general elections because Jesus overcame the world so there is no one who will “trump” Jesus. (pun intended)

Now off to go pray some more for our country and this election.
