{ Day 10 } 31 Tricks to Scare Away the Grief Monster – USE

Welcome to Day 10 of 31 Tricks to Scare Away the Grief Monster. I wanted to send you a brief post about a very quick trick.

Today’s “trick” is

USE

Use the good dishes.

They are dishes and yes, the stoneware and fine bone china is breakable but it is also replaceable. Do not let the good dishes sit there unused.

  • Drink your Pumpkin Spice Latte out of the coffee cup from your china set.
  • Buy yourself some flowers at the grocery store and use the good crystal vase.
  • Who says you can only have wine in the wine glass?  Fill it with milk, a smoothie or iced tea.
  • Don’t save the nice serving dish for vegetables when company comes over. Use it for fresh, seasonal fruit.

Amalfi

Joe and I used Pfaltzgraff Amalfi pattern for our “china” as we never had a set of fine bone china. When he passed I got rid of the every dishes in the church garage sale and started using the Pfaltzgraff.

I do not regret my decision, even though Amalfi was discontinued a year or two after we bought the pattern.

Life is short.

Every day is a celebration, so use the good dishes! (I was informed that today is National Angel Food Cake Day.)

Resource: replacements.com if your pattern has been discontinued.
