Five Minute Friday: Alone – A Widow’s Place In Society

Author’s Note: Today I am linking up with other bloggers over at Kate Motaung’s site for Five Minute Friday. We share a post written in five minutes on a word picked by Kate.

I’ve not done a Five Minute Friday post since earlier this year and decided it was time to try it again.

The prompt for today is ALONE.

A Widow’s Place In Society

Friends and family get on with their lives and don’t have time for you, after your husband moves to heaven, which leaves you…alone.

You do make new friends but they have their own group they hang out with and you do not fit in, which leaves you…alone.

There are no invitations to bonfires, backyard picnics, or other social activities, which leaves you…alone.

While I do have a few close friends from church (4) who I met through Griefshare, I need more of a social life since Rommie is no longer in the house and I am back in the unemployment line (UGH!!!). I also have 1 close friend who is a former coworker, and 1 close friend I met in the unemployment line.

Once you are a widow you do not fit in society, which leaves you…”Alone Again, Naturally.”

Well my 5 minutes are up so I will close by saying Thank You to God for never leaving me alone.

“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

Matthew 1:23

(NKJV)
