Last month I wrote a post about how God placed Isaiah 43:19 on my heart earlier this year, and listed all the new things He did so far in 2015.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.
Well, I decided Something New is going to be a post published on the first of the month.
Here’s the May edition:
The “something new” God did was the new job as a Customer Service Assistant for a moving company specializing in relocating executives.
Along with the new job comes a new lunch time, length of lunch, lunch room and commute to work.
The new job is the major new thing God did in my life this month.
One day I started doing research on the word “submit” (Greek: hupotasso) and ended with me downloading a new Bible – New Spirit-Filled Life Bible Kingdom Equipping Through the Power of the Word. (New King James Version) I searched Google for the best version of the Bible and NKJ was one of the ones recommended because the Masoretic Text was used for the Old Testament and the Textus Receptus was used for the New Testament translation. There was something about the New Spirit-Filled Life Bible caught my eye when I was searching on Amazon and I downloaded it. So far so good, will keep you updated once I’ve read more of it.
My final new experience is one I could have done without – I stepped on a bee yesterday. One of those fat black and yellow ones (the prior 3 bee stings came from honey bees). It was a burning pain. After the sting, I hobbled to the bathroom and took 2 Benedryl. Years ago I heard you have a 20-minute window after a sting to get Benedryl in you to help with the swelling. I had it in me within 1 1/2 minutes and it does work.
The swelling and redness went away and stayed away. I cleaned the wound and applied coconut oil (anti-bacterial properties) and a band-aid. Will keep it covered until the little hole has healed.
Those are my new experiences for the month of May. Stay tuned for next month’s Something New to find out what new ways God works in my life during the month of June.
