This post was going to be published this Thursday but I bumped it up as there is something else I want to post since Thursday will be 1 week before Thanksgiving.
Week 2 of my journey included two huge achievements.
Achievement #1
Monday’s are the busiest day in the call center where I recently finished a season position. Last Monday they needed extra help so they called me back for the day. The problem is I would reach for a Pepsi every afternoon to make it through the day. Could I make it through even one day without Pepsi? The answer is yes. My only drink that day was cucumber water.
Achievement #2
The second achievement was accomplished by God. The muscle that I pulled behind the left knee got better. I am now walking without a limp 90% of the time. Thank you God!
More
Sara challenged us to add more fruits and vegetables last week. I increase veggies during the week and even had a salad for lunch after Wednesday Bible Study. Fruits did not get increased until the weekend when I had 2 plates of fruit at the holiday grief support seminar I helped with last Saturday. Of course, I had to sample the cherry cheesecake tarts I made but cherries are a fruit. 😉
Goal
As a participant in this program I need to set a fitness goal. The goal I have set is to walk an obstacle course. The course I’ve chosen is – the mall. It is a 2 story mall with lots of nooks and crannies that are located off the main concourse. The fact that my walk is taking place during the holiday season makes is what makes this an obstacle course. Although I plan on being there when they open when there are fewer shoppers.
The tentative date is 12/19 but that is subject to change depending upon weather and driving conditions. I live in one of the few areas that gets lake effect snow.
When the lake effect snow machine rev’s up, watch out!
I will take a selfie of me walking the mall as proof I achieve my goal. While the goal may seem a little on the wimpy side, it is what I feel is best for me as I work to strengthen my knee muscle. Being a widow, there is no backup living here in the house should I further injure myself.
Week 3
So stay tuned next week for my continuing adventures on this Faithful Fitness Lines journey. The post will be online next Tuesday since Thursday will be Thanksgiving.
*Disclaimer: I was given free access to the Faithful Finish Lines program with the promise in blogging about my experience. I am not receiving payment of any other form and the opinions are mine alone.
I love this! I am so inspired by your dedication to continue in spite of adversity! You are setting a wonderful example for your children and others including me!
Thanks Shary, but the only “child” I have is an ornery 12 year old golden retriever. 😉 She’s never outgrown her puppy phase and for that I am very thankful.
