31 Days of Joy: Day 19 – My Version Of My Pastor’s Sermon
Well it is 8:15 a.m. and I have not started getting ready for church.
Truthfully, I feel called to go back to bed. Not sure if it is God, the devil or my pulled muscle behind the left knee telling me to go to sleep. Even a slightly injured body needs more rest, especially when the body belongs to the only person who does the household chores.
My pastor is preaching about raising kids even though your life is a mess. Never having parented human kids, the topic does not appeal much to me.
Here is my version of the same sermon.
- We are human – therefore
- We are imperfect – therefore
- We are a mess.
The true question is –
What are you doing about your mess?
Recognizing your life is a mess and turning to God to fix it is you showing your kids how to fix a mess.
It is you leading by example, which in my opinion is the best kind of leadership for kids young and old.
What mess are you joyfully turning over to God today?
This concludes Michele’s version of her pastor’s sermon. (I bet you did not fall asleep during my version.) 😉
Now I am off to bed to rest and heal my pulled muscle mess.
Thank you God for your healing power over pulled muscles and of all things that make our lives messy.
May the God of Hope fill you with all Joy and Peace as you trust in Him.
