31 Days of Joy: Day 3 – Joy in God Moments
(Good morning and welcome to day 3 of 31 Days of Joy. I have joined the Nester’s 31 Days of 5 Minute Freewrites challenge. You can read my other posts here.)
Joy In God Moments
Two years ago this month, I became a freelance writer/virtual assistant.
To supplement my income, I took a seasonal position selling lawn mower parts in a high volume call center. The season will come to and end most likely later this month. Then I will be back to relying on my freelance writing to pay the bills.
I was thinking about this fact on my drive out of town Wednesday to visit my brother visiting from Arizona. I decided to pray about finding work – again. I told myself to stop panicking about it because God knows my needs. God having my back is one thing that was reinforced this summer as I read through the Psalms. There was no one Psalm that stood out, but numerous verses proclaiming God has my back.
I arrived at Mom’s and had a wonderful visit and lunch with her and my brother. Then I headed home.
On the drive home, a white sedan exited the freeway and as he did I noticed his license plate – John 6:35. Not having memorized that verse I made a mental note to look it up after getting home.
Here is what I found: John 6:35
35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
John 6:35
It was an answer to my morning prayer.
There is joy in knowing God’s got my back – always.
Thank you God!
Hi, Michele! I am your “Linky Neighbor” on the Write31 site and thought I would just come over and say hello. I LOVE today’s post-it is so neat that you saw that license plate and that was the verse. It’s a good thing you were paying attention, or you would have missed God speaking to you! I’ll keep you in my prayers!
Hello my “Linky Neighbor”, it is nice to meet you. Thank you for saying hello. I read your blog post and also LOVE it. I try to be graceful but God made me more of a klutz! I look forward to following your posts during this challenge. Thanks for the prayers. God bless you and your lovely family.
