31 Days of Joy: Day 1- Joy Defined In 3 Words
(Author’s Note: Today is the first post in the blogging challenge 31 Days of 5 Minute Freewrites. This month I will be writing about Joy. At OgleOhio you will find 31 Days of Autumn in Ohio.)
What is Joy?
After I started JoyReturns, someone asked me how I would define joy. I said “Joy is happiness on steroids.” (This is the one time when steroids are a good thing.)
Since then I have come up with a drug-free definition.
Joy is a deeper, richer feeling residing in your heart. Unlike happiness it is not based on people, places, events or things.
I came across this quote from Ed Sullivan a couple days ago.
“If you do a good job for others, you heal yourself at the same time, because a dose of joy is a spiritual cure. It transcends all barriers.”
Ed Sullivan
Once I read this quote, the lightbulb went on over my head – joy is a spiritual feeling.
“What a feelin'” it is indeed!
May you be blessed with lots of joy today.
I love that quote from Ed Sullivan. I have never heard that before.
I never heard it before either and knew I had to share it.
