Easy Heath Bar Cookies – BEFORE I Took A Bite!
Easy Heath Bar Cookies
(Thanks to long-time friend and former co-worker AnnMarie Kocias)
Ingredients
Saltine crackers 12 oz. Semi-sweet or milk chocolate morsels
1 cup Butter 1 cup Chopped walnuts
1 cup Brown Sugar
¼ teaspoon Baking Soda
Directions
Line a rimmed cookie sheet (what my Grammy used to call a jelly roll pan) with foil and cover with cooking spray.
Lay out crackers on foil, sides touching.
Melt butter in saucepan, and then add brown sugar.
Let boil for 1 minute, stirring gently to mix.
Remove from heat.
Stir in baking soda and spread mixture with spatula over crackers.
Place in oven for 10 minutes at 375*.
Remove from oven, sprinkle with morsels, and spread melting chocolate across top of mixture.
Cover with chopped nuts making sure they are pressed into chocolate.
Place in refrigerator overnight or until cooled before cutting.
Makes 1 HUGE serving, or if you are a straight cutter, as many crackers that you can fit on sheet.
Enjoy!
Michele’s Notes:
YUM! RICH! Very gooey if you eat it warm. Perfect snack for nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Make sure you feed them this just before they go home. You would not want them too sugared up while at your house
