Live here now! Living in hope is living in the future, which is really postponing life. It is not a way of living.

I came across this quote while searching for ones to put on my new employer’s Facebook page. I read it and thought how depressing life would be to live without hope.
The Definition We Need
Yes we need to enjoy and appreciate every moment but we also need hope. However, the definition we need is this one from Merriam-Webster’s Online Dictionary:
“to expect with confidence”
Not the one society has of wishful thinking without the expectation of fulfillment.
Hoping with an expectation of confidence starts by taking action today.
Taking action today regarding your job search:
- Learn the new rules of job search,
- Get out there and attend networking events,
- Join job search groups either in person on online.
- etc, etc, etc….
Take action today to fulfill your hope for getting a job tomorrow.
Take action regarding getting through your grief journey:
- Count your blessings.
- Find a support group.
- Give your time to someone worse off than you.
Take action today to fulfill your hope for getting through the agonizing pain of grief, so you can move forward with life.
I challenge you to redefine your definition of hope to one of expecting with confidence.
Then may you:
“Live for today but hold your hands open to tomorrow. Anticipate the future and its changes with joy. There is a seed of God’s love in every event, every circumstance, every…situation in which you may find yourself.”
