Casting Your Cares

SCRIPTURE:  

Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall. 

Psalm 55:22

It is Thanksgiving Eve and as this holiday season gets underway cast your cares on God.  Talk to Him about what is bothering you, whether it is the first Thanksgiving and Christmas without your spouse, or you are just tired of the chaos and confusion the season brings.    

He Will Sustain You

I know, he sustained me through the first holiday season.  It was rougher than words can accurately describe.  Anxious, lonely, painful, nerve-wracking, and gut-wrenching all describe that first holiday season but yet, they do not describe the mental, physical and emotional feeling well enough.

A Few Moments

Take a few moments each day and quiet yourself before Him asking for the strength to get through the day.  Afterwards just sit still, breathe deeply, and exhale slowly and I bet you will feel relaxed and calmer.  Who knows, you may even feel a little bit of joy slowly creeping up on you. 

When the day gets to be too much, find a quiet spot and take a few moments to be with God.  Unlike some family and/or friends, he is there for you 24/7. 

Tip: Just take this season one day at a time.
